Training

Training is made available to both children from five years of age and adults. Membership includes local area students, families, business owners, Canadian Forces personnel and individuals from virtually all walks of life. Training is structured, so that students may join throughout the year and progress at their own pace.

Instruction is provided by the chief instructor and assisted by black belts certified by the Canada Goju Karate Association. Coaches are also available at the Yushinkai Dojo to assist in the training. At the Yushinkai Karate Dojo, all black belt instructors and coaches (apprentice assistant instructors) at a minimum, posses the Level 1 Canadian National Coaching Certification Program (theory qualification), to ensure a professional and safe training environment.

At the Yushinkai Dojo, we offer you a complete curriculum that maintains consistency in respect to the related disciplines offered. This “related art” compilation approach eliminates the “Jack of all trades, Master of none”, syndrome so many schools project today. Through his martial journey and experience, Sensei Lynch has carefully compiled the best of his experiences over the past twenty years and created the Yushinkai curriculum. Disciplines at the Yushinkai consist of:
  • Traditional Goju-ryu Karate-do
  • Competitive Sport Karate-do
  • Classical Okinawa Kobudo (weaponry)
  • Kyusho Jitsu (Pressure Point Fighting)
  • Tuite (Grappling Hand)
  • Qi Gong

Sensei Lynch has had (and continues to have) the opportunity to train and study with some of the world’s greatest martial artists. Below are some of these great teachers that have had a great impact and influence on Sensei Lynch and the development of the Yushinkai curriculum.
