Miyagi Sensei and Matsubayashi Shorin-ryu founder Shoshin Nagamine Sensei create the Gekisai Kata to standardize Karate and make it easier for students to learn Karate in preparation to war. Gekisai Dai Itchi ends with a forward step as opposed to a backward step. This is associated in reflection of the war.

Dalgleish Sensei begins his martial arts training under Tsurouka Masami Sensei, head instructor of Chito-ryu Karate in Toronto, Canada. He studies with Tsurouka Sensei for a period of two years obtaining the rank of 1st kyu in Chito-ryu Karate.

Dalgleish Sensei travels to California to study with Shotokan Master Nishiyama Hidetaka for two years obtaining the rank of 1st kyu in Shotokan Karate. Between 1959 and 1964, Dalgleish Sensei also studied Okinawa Goju-ryu under Seikeichi Noukachi Sensei, Isshin-ryu under Steve Armstrong Sensei and Tai Chi Chuan under Master Jung of Vancouver, BC Canada.

The Miyagi family, officially appoint Yagi Meitoku Sensei as direct successor to Miyagi Chojun Sensei in a public ceremony. Yagi Sensei receives Miyagi Sensei's do-gi and obi.

Dalgleish Sensei studies Kyokyushinkai and receives a 3rd dan from Oyama Masutasu Sensei. He then returns to Toronto and teaches Shotokan and Kyokyushinkai Karate to the Eastern Karate Club.
Between 1965 and 1967 Dalgleish Sensei travels to New York to study Japanese Goju-ryu under Peter Urban Sensei.
William (Bill) Hind begins his martial arts training at the Eastern Karate Club under Benny Allen Sensei. Also begins his studies with Dalgleish Sensei.

Steven Lynch Sensei of Canada Goju Karate is born.

Dalgleish Sensei receives 3rd dan in Japanese Goju-ryu from Peter Urban Sensei. Introduces Japanese Goju-ryu to the Eastern Karate Club.
Dalgleish Sensei travels to Phoenix Arizona to study Okinawa Shoriekan Karate under Robert Trias Sensei of the United States Karate Association. Trias Sensei awards Dalgleish Sensei with a 4th dan.
